Nancy Karels, LMT, graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in Richfield, MN and is nationally certified in Therapeutic Massage and Body Work. Her treatments range from deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy to Swedish massage, as well as other modalities. The potential outcome is a positive sense of health and well being.
Trigger Point Therapy– Applies concentrated finger pressure to “trigger points”- painful, irritated areas in muscles- to break the cycle of spasm and pain resulting in relaxation of entire area of the muscle.
Deep Tissue Massage– Releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on contracted areas, both by following and going across the grain of the muscle, tendons, and fascia. Deep tissue reduces stress and increases flexibility with increased blood flow and aids in eliminating toxins from the body.
Therapeutic Massage- A general systemic massage of soft tissues of the body to induce a state of deep relaxation and to increase the body’s blood and lymphatic circulation. This is an individualized treatment based on your needs, ranging from gentle to specific deep tissue massage.
Sports Massage– A massage technique designed specifically for athletes or those who engage in a sports, exercise or fitness program. It is usually deeper and more vigorous (2-3 times more rapidly) than an average massage. Sports Massage could be used to ready the muscles for strenuous activity or to assist the body in recovering from the after effects of such an activity. To help relieve muscular stress and focuses on breaking up lactic acid build-up in the muscle.
